Healthy hot chocolate as a mood booster.
Cocoa is a superfood!
It has a lot of polyphenols which proved to be powerful in slowing down your oxidative process and as a result, slow down aging. BUT it doesn’t just have antioxidants, it also naturally boosts your mood. It's all down to the fact that cacao contains a compound called PEA (or phenethylamine) and amino acid Tryptophan which triggers the release of endorphins and mood-enhancing neurochemicals in the brain like serotonin and dopamine.
I would avoid store bought hot chocolates though as they are loaded with sugars. And instead make your own, it’s so easy.
This is all you will need :
Any plant-based milk of your choice - 300ml
A tablespoon of full fat raw cacao powder - if for one serving.
Coconut sugar or honey 🍯 is optional as per you taste.
Bring it to the boil and then simmer for about 20min so it releases all the fats and becomes nice and creamy. Add some cinnamon or vanilla powder before serving.
